Diwali 2026 in Hinglish Vinglish

Diwali Rangoli Together

One giant rangoli, poured by every learner. Vote on the design from 26 Oct. Paint your piece from 1 to 8 Nov. On Diwali night, it lights up.

How it works

Two minutes a day. Everyone paints the same design, so every piece fits.

  1. 1

    26 to 31 Oct

    Pick the design

Vote for Lotus, Star or Marigold. The winner is the rangoli we all paint.

  2. 2

    1 to 8 Nov

    Do your 10 cards

Finish 10 cards in your feed and your rangoli turn opens for the day.

  3. 3

    Every day

    Learn the new colour

Each day brings one new colour word in Hindi, like neela for blue.

  4. 4

    Your turn

    Pour your piece

Tap a shape and the powder falls grain by grain. Pinch a thin line or drop a dot.

  5. 5

    Then

    Watch it land

Your piece flies into the shared rangoli. One ring a day, from the centre out.

  6. 6

    Sun 8 Nov

    Diwali night

Diyas light up around the finished rangoli, one for every painter.

Your turn, from feed to Diwali night

A new colour every day

Your bowl of powder grows by one colour a day. Learn the word, hear it, then pour it.

What is a rangoli?

Art at the door

A rangoli is a design made on the floor, often at the front door. At Diwali, families make one to welcome guests and good luck into the home. The word has rang in it, and rang means colour.

Made by hand

People pinch coloured powder or rice flour and let it fall in a thin line. To fill a shape, they sprinkle it.

Lines first, then colour

Many rangolis start with white lines. Colour comes after, often from the centre out. Ours grows one ring a day.

Questions

When is it?

The vote opens on 26 Oct. Painting runs from 1 to 8 Nov. Diwali night is Sunday 8 Nov.

Where do I take part?

In the Hinglish Vinglish app, on iPhone and Android. The rangoli has its own tab while the event is on.

How often can I paint?

One piece a day. Each day opens a new ring and a new colour, so come back every day.

What if I miss a day?

Your earlier pieces stay in the rangoli. Join again the next day.

I am new to Hindi. Is this for me?

Yes. It is made for beginners. Each day teaches one colour word, with audio, and the painting needs no Hindi at all.
